Common (or not so common) Issues

  • Time & Date issues (see TimeDateTrouble?)

  • Cannot ping server / ping timeout (see PingTrouble?)

  • Server pings but cannot access SSH (see CannotSSH?)

  • Can connect in, but cannot contact hosts *from* the VPS (see ReachOutTrouble?)

  • Rescue mode console hangs (see RescueMode)

  • Console hangs (see ConsoleHangs?)

  • Lost root password (see ResetRootPassword)

  • Lost management console password (see PasswordReset)

Error messages

  • FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.18.8-xen/modules.dep: No such file or directory (see KernelModules)
